We may not be able to turn back the clock, but it’s never too late to change.
To help you on your way, we gathered the six inspiring stars from the latest series of Game Changers to tell us what advise they’d dispense to their 20-year-old selves.
Jody Allen, founder of Stay At Home Mum: “Go travel. Invest in Facebook shares. Don’t work so hard and have a bit of fun.”
Dana Sawyer, Director Millennium Aged Care Consultants: “Have a good think about the kind of person you’d like to be. Trust your own decisions. Have a plan and be willing to change that plan as it goes along because life happens.”
Maria Halasz, CEO Cellmid: “I would definitely tell her don’t take yourself so seriously, and do something that you really love.”
Geoff Marshall, Managing Director of Thred: “Learn to have fun. Learn Chinese so another billion people can understand you. Enjoy the journey as much as the outcome. Fundamentally surround yourself with good people.”
Chris Adams, tech innovator: “Don’t listen to the stories that everybody’s telling you, unless they’re qualified to tell them to you. Trust your gut.”
Ian Marsh, CEO The Streetsmart Business School: “Don’t live the story everyone else has written for you. Have the courage to step outside your comfort zone and write your own story. Have the courage, believe in yourself and make it happen.”
